This component is a passive interface module from the VARIOFACE series, designed for connecting 8 PNP sensors. This module is used to connect field signals (sensors, actuators) to PLCs/controllers in an organised manner, via FLK14-type connectors (14-pin plug, ‘flat cable’/IDC system) and terminal blocks that allow the signals to be routed to individual wiring on a terminal strip. It is a passive module; therefore, it does not perform any electronic signal conditioning – it merely distributes and adapts the wiring between the system cable (connected to the PLC) and the field sensors. This helps to reduce connection errors and installation time compared to individual point-to-point wiring. It features an LED indicator for each channel, allowing for immediate visual diagnosis of the status of each sensor, thereby facilitating maintenance and fault detection. Installation is very straightforward – the module is mounted on a DIN rail and can be positioned in various ways.
